Farewell Magdelene

Thursday, 11th September was Magdelene Lee's last day of school as her family is migrating to US. We held a small farewell party for her and her mum was very kind to provide us with drinks and snacks while I bought a small cake for her. Since our classroom was going to be used for the PSLE Listening Comprehension on Friday, we were asked to use the Computer Lab 3. We ate outside the Computer Lab instead. Nevertheless, we had an enjoyable time during the farewell party. I managed to take some pictures for all of us to remember. I hope Magdelene will adapt well in America and learn many interesting things there. She will be missed by everyone that knows her especially 4 care pupils and the teachers. I hope you like the little present that i chose for you. Thank you for the bookmarks you have given to the class. The class also prepared a Farewell Card (designed by Rachel Chua) for all of us to write a few parting words.

4 Care Maths Olympiad

The training for Maths Olympiad in 4 care began very early in January. Lim Jeck(NUS High) and Clarence Sim(Hwa Chong) have kindly agree to lend a helping hand to become assistant coaches to me in coaching the pupils of 4 care in their maths olympiad. Hopefully, by P6, the pupils of 4 care will achieve as many Maths Olympiad Distinctions and have a higher chance to enter their dream school. This term, we will have new members joining the Maths Olympiad who are pupils from 4 courage, creativity, diligence and honesty.Welcome to the Club, guys!

4 Care Buddy Readers

The class was sad that Valenia transfered to another school because she wanted a school near to her house. However, the class was all smile again when we found out that a pupil who had gone to China had come back to Singapore to continue her studies in 4 Care!All of us were very excited and could not wait to meet her! on the 2nd week of term 3, after the group of China pupils left, Shena Tan came! We all hope that she will enjoy to be in our class and make good friends!

IT Festival at Crescent Girls

OUr class is proud to announce that Elyas (Winner for the P4 Storytelling Competition during English Week) was being selected to be the Master of Ceremony (MC) for the IT Festival at Crescent Girls. He partnered with a pupil from Blangah Rise Primary to be the MC for the priZe presentation whereby some schools were awarded for their IT culture in the school. Elyas was also proud to announce that our school, QTPS won an award the most number of teachers contributed teaching resources in the S-Link. Congratulation Teachers of QTPS! and also Elyas, for a job well done!

Some of the pupils were also invited to IT Festival.10 of 4 care pupils were there. The most memorable part was some of the 4 care pupils who participated in the IT Festival were so lucky that they won a number of Lucky Draws! Not only that, our school had also won the award for the most popular IT Booth in the IT Festival which showcased our award winning entries last year. Can you guess what entries were they?

Reading Programme

The p4 level is very lucky to be the first level to have a reading programme. In the reading programme, pupils will be given a storybook each (the same for the whole class) which are actually books that had won awards or one of those best selling books. The books are distributed once a week or twice a week by the form teacher. After every reading, we will then discuss about the good part of the book, the characters of the story and then a book review. Sometimes, we have an extension activity. For example, after reading a book,the pupils will have a chance have a chance to watch part of the movie that is of the same title of the book they had read for example Charlottes's Web, Stuart Little. They also will have the chance to learn more on other cultures. Recently, the whole level watched the movie entitled, "How to eat fried worms" in the hall. Thanks to parry lim who has generously lend us the VCD for all the p4 pupils to watch on that day.

The recent extension activity that 4 care had experienced was to learn more about the Japanese Culture. This was because the book that the pupils read, "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes" was originated fromthere. The class learnt origami and experience sushi making. They also ate snacks that are common in Japan and drank green tea which is a common drink in Japan.

Below are some pictures taken during the sushi making cum green tea and origami session. They are also pictures of pupils participating enthusiastically in the reading programme and lets hear some of the favourite books of the children of 4 care.

Before the sushi making, the class had the chance to experience origami. They learnt how to fold paper cranes and also assisted their classmates to fold paper cranes.Some of the pupils even brought their own origami paper. To demonstrate their classmates to fold paper cranes, rachel chua volunteered to do just that. Demonstrating it under the visualiser, most of the pupils manage to fold them. As a result, there were about 200 paper cranes which were folded and we will use it for decorations in our class when school reopens.

Show and Tell (Girls)

As part of Ca2, the pupils need to present Show n Tell regarding their favourite books. Most of the girls did well in their presentation. However, there is a girl who was very outstanding in her presentation. She spoke clearly, memorised her lines and all of us were captivated by her presentation. She is non other than, Ms Yao Chen Yin! Well done, Chen Yin! The lastine in the picture gallery below is the photo of our best speaker. Take a look, guys!

Show and Tell (Boys)

For the boys, they had done very well. A handful of boys took the effort to memorise their lines. If i can recall, they were, Kevan, Philip, Tian Ern and few more boys who scored extremely well in their Show n Tell. Way to go, boys! Here are some pictures of them in action.

NAtional Day Celebration! 4 Care Won the Most Enthusiastic Class 2008!

National Day Celebrations was a memorable day for 4 Care. For the first time, the 4 care pupls made banners. The banner making was very exciting. I provided with them the cloth, the paint and also some pictures for them to draw and paint on the banner. After school, some of he group members spent time to complete their banner. After they had done that, i attached some wooden poles to the banners so that the pupils would have an easy time holding up their banners.

On the day itself, the children wore red and white. They also wore head banners and do some face paintings which were really cool. The best part was, our class was selected to be the Ambassador for the Rainbow children that were coming to our school to celebrate National Day with us! That had made our celebration more meaningful as we could share our happiness together with pupils who are less fortunate than us.

4 care cheered and sang the National day songs wit all their hearts and because of that, our class won the Most Enthusiastic Class for the National Day Celebrations!(just like last year whereby 6A also won the same award).

2 of our 4 care pupils, Elyas and Chenyin was the Master of Ceremony for the entire National Day celebrations! Bravo guys! We are very proud of you!

Melaka Trip

At the end of Term 2, I was invited to accompany a group of pupils to Melaka for a Learning Journey. This included the p4 pupils and p5 pupils. The 4 care pupils that were Philip, Leon and Wenhan. It was a very special trip because it was the first time the school had organised such trip for the pupil leaders of the school (prefects, monitors and cca leaders).

Rest assured that next year,the school will be having a similar one like this. So, what are you guys waiting for? Look out and make sure you participate in the Learning Journey next year! If you would like to know what we did in Melaka, watch the video clip below.

4 Care Welcome China Pupils into our class!

This year, the class was very happy to be the host for 3 china pupils. Thanks to Agnes, Anqi and Wynona for being their buddies during their stay in our class for three days. We showed them lessons using the Interactive Whiteboard, using Ask n Learn and also bringing them to the computer lab, library and science labs to do some experiments!

4 Care Sushi Making

As part of the Reading Programme the P4 Level is embarking, i had organised sushi making as an extension activity from the book the class had read before which is "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Crane". Since the book originated from Japan, it would be good if the pupils were exposed to some of the Japanese Culture.

As part of the post CA2 activity, the pupils needed to bring an apron to prepare for the sushi making. Everyone was very excited. The ingredients were prepared by the teacher and the pupils were divided into groups. I demonstrated the making of the sushi under the visualiser and after that, the pupils got the chance to do it for themselves! Each group was given some sushi rice, seaweed, soya sauce and also the toppings (eg sausages, cucumber, crabstick and omelette) to prepare for the sushi.

On top of that, we also had a tea ceremony whereby pupils had a chance to taste green tea. Rachel Chua and some other pupils had kindly brought their green tea bags and gave one tea bag to their classmates. The rest of the pupils got their green tea bags from me which i specially bought them from Daiso. Last but not least, the Japanese snacks that the pupils brought earlier were distributed to their classmates as a treat to them during recess! What an interesting and enjoyable day!

Class Gathering 6A 2005

I must first thanked Niger and his family for letting us use the facilities in their Condominium for our 2nd gathering And also Yujia for painstakingly organising another gathering. Almost those who didnt turn up in our 1st gathering (jeremiah, yiping, weishan, hpone, weiheng, yeehueh) at lovely's house came for the 2nd bbq. those who didnt make it in both the gatherings (jabbar, keith, gabriel, sean and many others) better come for the next gathering maybe at the end of the year. No Excuse Please. and also we missed rena, lovely, iman who did not manage to come due to some unforseen circumstances.

I was really moved by all of you for the effort and time you put in for the gathering. Shenyang, Hpone and Ridzwan who just came from their NCC Camp also turned out for the gathering although their bones were breaking apart. Those who had tuitions, or who had overslept during the day, or with loads of projects to do, had put aside their time to come.

the food was really fantastic. we had satay, barbecued fish,mini octopus, chicken wing and not forgetting beehoon and curry. we had a good time setting the charcoal and bbqing. Ian Ang was awarded with Degree in Lighting Up Charcoal and the Art of BBQing from Quintet University and made sure we ate our fill. Other people who had helped out in preparing the bbq food like Cassandra, YeeHueh, Yujia, Jeremiah. These people will soon be getting their Diploma in Fanning Fire and the Art of BBQing from Quintet Polytechnic in the coming convocation ceremony. Thanks to Clarence Sim for taking photographs for me to upload them for all of us to enjoy.

Teachers Day 2008

The day that i have been waiting for had finally arrived which is of course, Teachers' Day. That will be when i will get to see my ex, ex-ex, and ex-ex-ex pupils and find out what they are doing. Most of them have transformed to hansome young men and ladies. Its a nice feeling to see them and remember their old and forgotten teachers here in Queenstown Pri. This time round, i happened to see the 6A 2005 badge pupils more than the other badges. I really admired how they are "gelled" together after so many years. That is the best present for me for Teachers' Day. I hope their friendship will last for a lifetime!

For my little "toddlers" which are from the 6A2007, its great that you are enjoying yourselves in your secondary schools. All of u are adapting so well now. I was quite worried that you might not be able to adapt or even cope with the subjects. I am very happy some of you still come back to qtps to say hi to me. Kiagos and khalil still comes . Lim Jeck helps out in the Maths Olympiad and Iris, Yenyi, Suhaila helped to upload videos and movies for me. Thank you guys!HOpefully, in November we can organise another class gathering to celebrate the SA2 results

The P6A (2005) Class Gathering

Today i was looking forward to the P6a class gathering. The time was 3 pm. I quickly packed my things from the staff room as i had been working on the Malacca trip presentation since morning. I picked up my 2 children and took bus 111 to Lovely's house where the gathering would be taking place. As we alighted the bus, Iman and Rina were there too!

As i approached the swimming pool, some of the guys were already there . Yu Jia, Niger, Nicky, Yi Thong, Shenyang, Daryll, Cuiling, Alfreda and of course, the host, Lovely, were smiling at us. Oooohh, how i missed all of them! I really hoped more of the guys would be coming. In a few minutes, another group of guys came. They were ian, cassandra and ridzvan and the last guy to come was ridzwan. i cannot ask for more when 14 of them came. I felt sad though, when the rest did not manage to attend. lovely, rena, iman tried to call some of them like raika, jabbar, cindy but they couldn't make it. I heard charlene and miaoying are in germany. it will be really great if keith, jeremiah, clarence, weiheng, nandini, sowmiya, izzati, minjian, umar, ziya, lyndon, yeehueh and many more others were around.

anyways, the party went on as planned. We played some cool music in this i pod thingy which i was so impressed with. i like the song by someone called John Something entitled Just Yours Thingy and i really want to get the CD. we caught up with one another about studies, ccas and so on. its so nice to see all of them doing well and still as well mannered as before. Then, my 2 kids(freda and ian) wanted to swim and in split seconds, they were already in the baby pool. i told them they could only go to the deep pool if my helper were to come later.

The guys got themselves busy. some play cards, some continued chatting and munching on the snacks while some others played games. the best game played there was the Dare or Truth Game Thingy. We would sit in a circle and there would be an empty bottle that would act like a spinner. Whenever the spinner spins the bottle and the bottle points to someone, the person will have to either choose a dare or say the truth.

Most of them chose Dare when it was their turn. i like it when they sportingly accomplished the Dare that their friends had created for them. Yu Jia, Lovely, Zachary were some of the people that chose Dare. it was so funny that we had such great fun watching them trying to fulfil the dare!Really refreshing and hillarious game.

Time flew so fast that it was time for dinner. Lovely's mum and maids had kindly prepared delicious meal of fried noodles, fried chicken, fishcake, watermelon and some beans thingy. Everyone filled their empty stomach and even my 2 kids, ian and freda and my maid had their second and third helping.

Well, the party didnt stop there. In fact, the party was just about to begin. One by one, the guys got thrown into the swimming pool. It was really thrilling to see most of them working cooperatively in carrying the victim to the pool. No one was spared except for ridzvan, who apparently hid himself near the exit and yi thong, who claimed that he was sick as his skin would turned scaly (i guess) if any chlorinated water was to touch him.

Even Nicky was not spared. Shenyang surrendered threw the white flag by throwing himself into the water to get wet before the others grabbed and threw him in. the girls were also pushed into the pool by the boys who were already drenched. They were running around like in the cartoon series Tom and Jerry. I had a great time taking pictures and video taping them.

After everyone got wet, we sat down to talk about funny things that happened when there were in queenstown primary school. its like walking down memory lane. it was so good to hear all the funny stories again. as this was the first batch that i taught them for 3 yrs, there were really many things to talk abt.

It was already 8.30pm.we started packing up and get ready to go home. the next gathering will be during the december holidays probably at Niger's house at Yew Tee. I really hope that most of the guys will come for the next gathering. no excuses, please.

As i looked back to wave goodbye to them, i knew i had done the right thing in teaching them some values which they carried with them until today. the values are humility, perserverance and respect one another. Thank you guys, for everything!!!!Enjoy the little video clip i had prepared for you guys!

At last, the 2nd bbq movieclip had finally been delivered. I have always enjoyed watching all these movie clips of our bbqs. It reminded me of the fun and loving bunch of pupils that i have taught in 2006 and 2007. The most enjoyable class gathering with lots of food. we must thank junwei's mum and yu hui's mum for joining us in our gathering....

P6A(2005) Matters: CLASS GATHERING at Lovely's House on 17th June

Hi guys!!!sorry didnt blog for almost 3 mhs. Hi Cindy, Umar, Yujia, CLarence the silent killer and many other silent killers and others who visited my blog. Time flies and u guys already in Sec 3. Before i go for my holidays to Indonesia next Monday, I will like to organise a class gathering on the 17 june (one day after my return to Indonesia) at Lovely's house at 3 pm. You guys must not forget to bring some food, snacks or drinks, ok! If you guys think you want to have a dip in the swimming pool, then you need to bring your swimming attire cos you are not allowed to jump into the pool with your casual clothes. I hope that lovely had booked the function room or a bbq pit for us to eat our goodies and chill out!Really looking forward to seeing all of you and to really get to see the change in all of you in terms of physically and mentally.

The 3rd BBQ

you guys must be wondering where is the 2nd BBQ. Ok let me tell you.... i was trying to upload the 2nd BBQ yesterday night but it refused to be loaded. I guess the file is too large as the movie clip is about 7 min. i will try my best to cut the movie clip into half and see if it could be uploaded by tonight. I hope you guys continue to visit my blog as i still have many many photos to upload...

The 3rd BBQ was nice. although a handful did not come..but we had an enjoyable time catching up with each other. That day was Yenyi's birthday so they were singing her a birthday song. i noticed most of you have already adapted very well in your secondary schools. Don't forget to study hard as i found out some of you had failed one or two of your subjetcs. Don't make it a habit to fail as i am afraid you will not be able to catch up later. Work as hard as possible like when you were in Primary 5 and 6.

So sorry for the late post. As you know, i was very,very busy so cldnt post the thing on time. But now, school holidays, i do have some time to look into the pictures and post them for all of you who had faithfully attended the BBQ that i had organised. Mid Year Exam Results

The mid year exams were finally over. Some of the pupils did very well while others did not perform as well as i had expected. The composition exams was very well done. Most of the pupils scored more then 15 marks which was really fantastic!I hope this standard will be maintained or even better in the final year exams. All the hard work that the class had put in their composition had paid off. I will promise to help make your compo writing more exciting as long as you follow all the instructions that was given to you. Reading is the most important part to improve in your compo!That's why, i did not give any homework at all so that you guys could catch up on your reading. How many of you have read at least more that 20 books during the holidays? Oh yes, remind me to reward all the pupils that had done well in their exams for example Top 3 pupils in Science, Maths and English. I will then post their pictures in this section later.

P4 Music Day

Well, this year Music Day, the class sang the Hady Mirza song entitled, "You Give Me Wings". It was a great song and a great performance. But to bad, i didnt have the chance to take photos of the performance. Our pianist, Tian Ern, helped he class by playing the tune of the song entitled, "I Love to Teach the World to SIng" and also the Hady Mirza song. It was a pity that no one remembered to take pictures during our performance.......Next year, i will definitely remember to take photos of the class Music Day. I wonder what items will the 5 Care be putting up?Any suggestions, guys?

Maths Carnival

Another interesting carnival was the Maths Carnival. The pupils that participated were Angelina, Wynona and Magdelene. They played many Mathematical games in NUS High. Some of the booths were shown in the pictures below. AFter the games, they learnt something about Space. Why don't you ask the 3 girls to tell all of you what they had learnt during the workshp? The girls are alsp required to do a Maths project entitled, "Maths Around Us". Have you started to think about your project, girls?

Language Arts Festival

The language arts festival was an eye opener. The 4 pupils, Tian Ern, Kar Lok, Rache Chua and Hui Qin were so very thrilled with the event. However, it was raining heavily. We had a hearty lunch in the canteen followed by watching a Debate which was held in the Auditorium. The debate was about some Fat Issue Thingy and the two schools that debated were from Radin Mas and St ANdrew.

Back to what the pupils attended for the workshop they attended earlier, the pupils learnt about being a journalist which meant how to be a reporter and published the articles that they have written. For me, i learnt more about story telling. Probably next time in class, i will be able to tell stories to the class.....

Scrabble Competition 2008

The day that the pupils had been waiting for had arrived. It was the National Scrabble Competition 2008. The venue was at Mayflower Primary School. The pupils were nervous as they entered the hall. However, I kept reminding them that they were there to enjoy themselves and for the expereince of it. The results, one of our P6 Team is qualified to join the Finals in Downtown East! Way to go guys! For the rest of the teams, dont be discouraged.. We will come back with a vengeance the next year......

Science Centre Trip

Well, the Science Centre Trip was a fun one. It was our second excursion after the Learning Journey at Chinatown. We learnt many stuffs on Light which is out of our textbook for example topic on Refraction, Prism and many other topics. It will be helpful for the pupils' IPW later in Term 3. Here are some pictures for all of you to enjoy.

The class also cheered on top of their lungs when they were in the bus which was heading back to school. Watch them in action!

Dear 6A, 2005....
Where are all of you??suddenly i missed you guys so much...u were the first batch of pupils that i have thought for 3 years....the longest ever......and i am sure to remember you guys....the pink club.....the dark side club....and the harry porter fans....now..most of u are even bigger than i am and more handsome than i thought.......girls too....so trendy and as gentle as ever.....im so touched that u guys still remember my birthday and made the effort to come to school to meet me.....

i still remember watching movies with all of you, the star wars and the cars ...the star wars was the best because after the movie, i grew to like them very much....and harry porter too.....

i was thinking maybe we could organise a class gathering.....why not we meet up at lovely's house during one of the march holidays......maybe the last saturday of the march holidays, the date will be 15th march..any takers???????

dear 4 care children,
do u like some of the cheers that i thought you since january?what are some of your favourite cheers?we must thank some of the ex pupils of mine, especially, shiman, yenyi, farhanah, yu hui, clarence, limjeck,suhailla and pupils from crescent girls for supplying us with some of the cheers....im sure we can make use of these class cheers to cheer our classmates who have done well and being awarded something especially in the school hall.....that day when mrs foo announced my name and the class for the best decorated award, the class cheered loudly and i am very happpy to hear that..however, there is still room for improvement as i know you could cheer even louder than that.....so next time, make sure you cheer looudly so that i wont be disappointed, ok?

how are yourca1 results? are you happy with your results... have all the questions that were asked looked familiar to you..i am sure if u were to pay attention in class, u will be able to score very well..however, if yo u have not done well, dont give up.....pay more attention in class and listen to whatever i say. take for example, highlight this or that, show working with this or that, read notes here and there.......then you will find yourself on the way to success...just remember the class pledge.....

6A class gathering on 10th March

There is an official class gathering on the 10th March at Lim Jeck's house.
Wear jeans and shirt and shoes but no socks.
Compulsary to bring 1 PE shirt from your school to mrs shahrin as a form of entry to lim jeck's condo.
those with many people in the school, you just have to buy 1 school shirt and give it to ma'am as a souvinier(Medium size). Crescent Girls you dont have to buy because Iris has kindly bought it for maam.
Bring a copy of sec1 report cards as a form of success. (:
Must remember 6A'o7 pledges as a form of entry. Includes water pledge,class pledge problem solving pledge and NE msgs.
Please bring swimming costume for those who want to swim. If not you can play basketball.
Bring food as usual. Cooked HALAL food as there will be NO barbecue. Food must be deliciously prepared. Obviously, edible with lots of drinks.
No pets , boyfriend, girlfriend and the other half along! No cousins, no aunties, no uncles no outsiders. Sticrtly not allowed. Only MAIDS are allowed if you want to bring them.
Invitation cards will not be given due to financial crisis.
Officially opens at 3PM and ends at 8PM.

Video award this tuesday

The moment that we have been waiting for is going to arrive soon. The ceremony a.k.a oscar will be announced this wednesday. We are keeping our fingers crossed to win an award of either bronze, silver or gold. last yr we manage to win the merit award.. so this yr we hope to win more than a merit... the actors and actress of our movie, "IRIS" also known as "Death Note" are very excited. however, sad to say, our hero in the movie, clarence sim, who was the only guy in that movie will not be able to come to the award ceremony as he will be deported to st john island for some survivor camp.... however, he had already penned down his thank you speech as follows:-

"thanks mrs shahrin for guiding us through the competition. thanks syx. then i wanna thank my team mates for making this film a success! And thank all the viewers and those who have supported us."

this is the thank you speech from the main character, IRIS. Iris please,

"First of all, I would really want to thank my one and only form teacher, Mrs Shahrin. Secondly, of course, is the director, Syx, for being funny. Next, I would want to thank my team mates who have supported me and did their parts well. Most of all, thank you to all the supporters and my family out there!!"

the ghost, Yenyi, will like to say a few words,

"I would want to thank Mrs Shahrin, for all the help she has rendered. Next, of course i would also want to thank Syx for helping us . I would like to thank the 2 of them the most as they have helped us the most. Then, i would also want to thank all my friends and family for all their support all these while. Thanks them for supporting me to do the ghost parts better. it was hard being one who couldn't laugh and talk. imagine that! im so happy that we had won the best class decorated award again.,...this will be my 5th time already..all thanks to the people out there
1.Iris for her Christmas tree and decorations (That's the reason that we have won the award)
2.Farhanah, Yenyi, Shi Man, Shi Yun, Khalil, Kiagos, Yu Hui, Ching Yee, Suhailla, Mei Xin, Geneveive.
For helping out with the class decorations weekly. Without you this would not have haoppened. To the current Primary four Care Children, your turn will be next. You have to keep the class clean at all times and do not destroy any class decoration. anybody caught destroying the class decoration especially the christmas tree and its leafy branches, will be made to do chicken dance, sing barney song, and five starjump. on the 23rd feb, we went for a spelling competition.its not like spellcast last year where iris had takern part, but something more serious. there were no games or whatsoever....the participants were theron, charmaine, kar lok and amily. it was fun but quite disappointing as there were no refreshments. poor children were so hungry after the competition

anyways, results of the spelling bee will be out soon. i wish u all the best...but for now, i am going to train my pupils scrabble soon..so scrabblers enthusiast out there...please volunteer your services .......i just cant do it alone....

Trip to Chinatown with 4 Care

We were lucky to have been blessed with good weather..all of us enjoyed the trip. Most of the children were well behaved. Mr Wong, the MT teacher, joined us and made the trip more interesting by cracking jokes. 2 of the parents joined the trip to help me...i really appreciate their help.I hope we could have more filedtrips and outings together like last year where the 6A went to the zoo and sungei buloh.

Last Tuesday, is the official opening of the Media Club Junior. It is called Media and Photography Club now because the club members needed to take photos of school activities and functions....

Anyways, the first session of the Media and Photography Club was a very fun and exciting one. We start off with introduction to the club activities, the roles of each member, the softwares that they will be learning as well as some of the competitions that they will be taking part.

Next, was the ice breaking game because the members need to get to know each other well. We played, "Blanket Game". The pictures below depicts the fun and excitement of the game...Enjoy the pictures...

Class Decoration: Make Greeting Cards

Dear 4 Care...

The time has come for us to decorate the class......i want the class to get the Best Decorate Class Award because each year, the class that i teach, will always get the award. I need your help to draw and paint some festival cards so that we could put it up on the notice board and the walls of the class. The rest of the decorations, i will ask my ex pupils to help me decorate it. It has been a tradition that all ex pupils need to come back to help me decorate the next "generation" class.......

These are some of the examples of pictures that depics the 4 festivals of Singapore. Please draw it well and paint it real nice so that we can win the award...then we could have a reason to cheer our class cheer in the hall..........All the Best!!!!

Greenwave Award Ceremony 2008

The day that i had been looking forward had come.....The Greenwave Award Ceremony. I am very proud that one of my pupils (ex) , Lim Jeck won the prestigious award of $500. The ceremony was worthwhile.. i learn so many ways that we could save the Earth from the other winners.

Below are some of the pictures of the ceremony.....

As u know...i am very into recycling....most of the worksheets given to the pupils were from recycled paper.....i felt the pinch if i print the notes and worksheets that need to be pasted on brand new paper....i even asked from parents to donate some of their recycled papers and the response was very good. Parents of Lim Jeck's, Nick's, Aaron's to name a few and other 6A pupils...were the ones who donated boxes and boxes of rough papers.....

The 4 care pupils are generous too.....everyday, there will be pupils who will donate some recycled papers to me and i really appreciate it. Recently, one of the pupils, Brandon Lee, donated a big pile of rough papers and i was really delighted....thanks everyone for helping me out.....

The message that i wanted to bring across about how important recycling has not gone to waste...Remember the 6A mantra,

"Only when the last tree has been cut down,
Only when the last river has dried up
Only when the last fish has been caught
Only then you will know that
Money cannot be bought "

Dear pupils of 4 Care

I am very happy and proud of u guys for trying out the blogging and also trying to read the Reders' Digest (RD). Although some of you may think that RD is very boring...somehow you will learn that we are the most fortunate people in the world as compared to the people out there.....and not only that...u will learn really good phrases that will help you in your composition.

and a very big thank you to u guys for donating some of the chinese decorations..i dont remember collecting so many decorations from pupils before....

By the way..i notice some of you like to post some pictures of cartoons in your blog..i mean 1 or 2 pictures should be ok...but not more than that...as the blog is actually like a kind of diary for you to write about your feelings and your opinions abt certain things that happened in class....

tHere are also some blogs which are so interestinggggggg that made me visit their blog more than anyone else....take for example chenyin's blog....she wrote down something so touching and moving......well done chengyin.......keep it up...

i may not be always going into ur blog but i will try at least once a week......im so glad that the class is on the way of becoming IT savvy....remember what i told u before.......u need to GET OUT FROM THE DARK....and SEE THE LIGHT.....hehehe.....this is one of my mantra like what my ex pupils might say.........

i am still not satisfied with the way some of you guys cut and paste your notes.......i know you can do it..so do it well the next time...
